Frequently Asked Questions

Is HWPO Hockey Training only RCS Hockey players?

NOPE! HWPO Hockey Training is open to all players that fit the age requirements. You do not need to be "committed" to play or currently playing for RCS Hockey to participate. HWPO Hockey Training is committed to improving all our athletes no matter where they play during the regular season. All are welcome.

Is there a skill level requirement for HWPO Hockey Training?

The base skill level to participate in camp is at least two (2) seasons of sanctioned USA Hockey play. This can be at the recreation or travel level.

Is this a learn to play camp?

No, HWPO Hockey Training is not a learn to play or learn to skate camp. Prior hockey experience is required to participate.

Is HWPO Hockey Training co-ed?

YES! All are welcome at our summer camp as long as they fit the age & skill level requirements. Locker room accommodations will be made for both genders as to provide equal treatment for all participants.

What does off-ice training look like for 10U, 12U & 14U?

As these age groups are experiencing the most drastic growth changes with their bodies, off-ice training for these groups focuses on coordination. Before we move any weights we need to first learn how to move our bodies appropriately & efficiently. This will be our main focus with these age groups. We believe this is paramount to injury prevention and the foundation for developing skill.
