RCS Hockey 2025 Season Updates
Hey RCS Hockey family and friends, thank you all for the love and support you brought to the rink this past year for our players and program. We simply can’t say thank you enough!
This past year our focus was on returning RCS Hockey to the high standard that you have previously known it to hold. We believe we started on that path with our transparent pricing, the Varsity Standard, and intentional off-ice training.
We are continuing our work to improve the RCS Hockey program and I’ve got some announcements here I’m really excited to share with you!
Hired Operations Director
The program has hired an Operations Director, Caitlin Hofstetter-Tregoning. We are so excited for Caitlin to be formally joining our organization. As Operations Director, Caitlin will be overseeing all of our team schedules, travel, administrative duties, hiring & managing team managers, and most importantly helping keep the coaches organized!
You can reach Caitlin at rcshockey@rcschool.org
Additional Ice & Locker Room Secured
We have signed an additional ice and locker room contract with the City of Greeley and the Ice Haus. For the 2025-26 season we will continue to operate out of our existing locker room at NoCo Ice Center for practices and games, but we will also have a new locker room at the Ice Haus for practices and games. We believe the additional room and ice allows our program to continue to grow and offers our players optimal development times.
Each team will have three (3) regular practices a week. Those practice times will be announced over the 4th of July holiday week.
CPHL Tryouts & Tournaments
We have locked in our CPHL club season tryouts! Tryouts will be held August 2nd, 4th & 5th, with our first official team practices starting on Monday, August 11th.
Tryout Day 1 - Saturday, August 2nd
- Session 1 - 1:45pm - 3:15pm
- Session 2 - 3:30pm - 5:00pm
Tryout Day 2 - Monday, August 4th
- Session 1 - 5:30pm-6:30pm
Tryout Day 3 - Tuesday, August 5th
- Session 1 - 5:30pm-6:30pm
Tournaments
Both teams will be participating in two (2) in-state tournaments and one (1) out-of-state tournament throughout the course of the CPHL & CHSAA Season. Tournament costs will be included for all players in regular season pricing.

Goalie Coaching Acquired
We are so excited to have signed an agreement with Mountain High Hockey Goalie Club to coach and instruct all of our goalies. This is not an extra add on, but included in regular season pricing.
What does the agreement include?
- An MHG coach at one (1) on ice Varsity & JV practice a week throughout club & chsaa seasons
- Personal video review sessions of games through the instat portal
- One (1) 1-on-1 session a month with a MHG coach at the MHG facility or Blue Arena
Paid Team Managers
Each team, Varsity Tier 1 and JV Tier 2, will have one (1) paid team manager for the seasons. What’s the pay? Each team manager will get one (1) player for FREE. They will not have to pay anything for their player to play in either the CPHL or CHSAA season. Interviews for these positions will be held after team placements have been decided. Formal job description will be provided by mid-July.
*RCS activities fee still applicable to team managers' player.
New Varsity Coaching Staff
I, Cal Miller, will be stepping down as the varsity head coach. This decision was not easy, but I fully believe it to be the right one for the RCS Hockey program and my family. But you're not getting rid of me that easy!
Though I will not be able to be on the ice or behind the bench, I will be taking on the role of General Manager & President of our new Board of Directors. In this role I will be overseeing and directing all RCS Hockey operations, including the hiring of my replacement, which we have already begun speaking to candidates. The hiring committee will consist of myself, RCS Hockey Board members Jake Pence, Luke Petrun, Collin Bowman, RCS Athletic Director Bart Mayes and other RCS key administrators.
I'm excited about my new role with the program, I believe it better fits my gift mix and therefore will allow RCS Hockey to be more successful. If you should have any questions regarding this change, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Lots of great things ahead for our 15th year as a program! Thank you for all the love and support, we couldn’t do any of this without you. We’re so excited for year 15! See you at the rink!
